The Dopp name derives from the early 20th century leather craftsman Charles Doppelt, whose company designed the Dopp Kit Case in 1926. Toiletry kits made by Dopp had been issued by the US military services during World War I. Since then Dopp have gone on to design a number of different leather products, most famously their satin cowhide leather wallets.
